Using Dualshock 4 or the controller can be hectic for people who want to write and browse the content on the PS4. So, for this purpose mouse and keyboard are used. They both can easily be connected. But, what to do when you are playing your favorite game and abruptly your PS4 mouse stops working?
What would you do in that case? You have your favorite game on screen but the mouse has stopped working. No need to worry. Some easy remedies can be tried to solve the issue.
Step#1. Enable USB Communication
The first step is to make sure that USB communication is enabled in the System Settings menu.
For this purpose, go to settings then go to controllers, and after that to communication methods. In the communication method, select a USB cable.
After doing all this, disconnect the wire of the mouse from the USB port of the PS4 and then replug it in the port. The PS4 should recognize it this time if everything with the wire is ok.
Step#2. Troubleshoot the Mouse Gets Disconnected During Gaming
Consider you are playing a game and suddenly the mouse has stopped working. You are doing the most important mission of your game. What would you do in that case?
You would be saying that the mouse is out of order or trying to change the mouse but a little trick can be applied in order to check whether the mouse is fine or not.
While in-game, plug out your mouse from the USB port. After that press the enter button from your keyboard and then replug in your mouse. It would work for you.
But keep in mind that keep the controller from the PS4 during this function because PS4 will identify the controller as a new device and you don’t want to do that.
Step#3. Connect to A Different USB Port
Maybe the USB port on your device is faulty or not working temporarily. You should disconnect the mouse from the PS4. After a while, connect it again.
Likewise, plug the mouse into a different USB port. Make sure the connector is plugged in firmly and not jiggling around.
Step#4. Check the USB Port
If by applying all the above techniques, your connection does not restore then there might be something wrong with the USB port.
The USB port can be damaged or it may have some sort of debris or dirt in it due to which PS4 is not recognizing it.
Try cleaning the USB port and then retry to connect the mouse again. It would work if that was the case.
Step#5. Use A Different Mouse
You can also try to connect another mouse to check if there is no fault with the previous mouse. If the new mouse gets connected without causing any problems.
Then certainly, the problem was with the mouse itself. No other hardware or software problem was there but the mouse is damaged itself.
