LG TV can easily be connected to the soundbar through an Optical cable. An optical cable is one of the best mediums to join both of them. But sometimes users face difficulties in doing so. Sometimes the Optical out of LG TV stops working. In this article, we will go through the methods by which we can overcome it.
Why does it happen?
- The optical cable can be out of order
- Software version of TV can be outdated
- The soundbar is not compatible with the TV
- Optical cable might not be connected properly to the TV or soundbar
- The TV might not be tuned to a proper channel
The jack of the Optical cable is designed for getting the signals from the video in digital audio signals. However, if this does not happen, you do not hear the audio signal.
For this purpose, you need an external analog channel by which sound can be heard.
If you do not face the problems mentioned above, then it may not be a technical fault but can be a mishap.
What should you do?
There are a number of ways which you can try to counter the problem. Some of them are mentioned below.
With LG Sound Sync
- Try to reconnect Optical Cable between TV and Soundbar
- On the soundbar remote press “Select Function” and select input mode as “Optical”
- On the TV remote select menu then select “Sound” then “Sound Out Speaker” and at the end select “LG Sound Sync”
- Input mode will immediately change to “LG OPT”
- Check the sound by increasing volume by remote
Without LG Sound Sync
- Reconnect the Optical Cable by Turning off LG Sound Sync
- On the soundbar remote press “Select Function” and select input mode as “Optical”
- Sound of both TV and soundbar should be restored
Also, update the Software version as it can also be a cause for this. If this does not work, try changing the Optical cable.
