Sometimes, only the wheel stops working. But, all other buttons on the Magic remote are functioning normally. So, the problem is specific to the wheel button only. You can fix it very easily.
Fixing the LG Magic Remote Wheel
The remote is composed of two halves. The upper half is the button panel and the lower part contains all the components. The upper cover of the LG Magic Remote is fixed by some clips. You need to separate it to fix the wheel. Just follow these steps;
Take a screwdriver and place it between the remote joints. Gently push the screwdriver upwards to release the clips. Start from the bottom of the remote. Now, repeat this process with the right and left sides until the cover separates.
Now, remove the wheel, it has a tiny part attached to its one side. This tiny black part has a whole inside. It helps to click the wheel of the Magic remote. You will notice that it is broken.
Take a toothpick and break its pointed end. Now, insert it into the tiny component. If the toothpick is loosely fitted then wrap some scotch tape around it so that it can fit properly. Next, push the toothpick forward to come out of the other end of this tiny component.
Insert the projected end of the toothpick into the hole inside the wheel. Attach the tiny component perfectly with the wheel and cut the extra toothpick. Fit the wheel back in its place. Press it to check whether it’s clicking or not.
Close the remote by putting the cover back and fixing the clips. You will hear a click sound when clips are closed successfully. That’s how you can fix a non-working wheel on your LG Magic Remote.
