I also faced the same issue when I got a new Swiffer Wet Jet. It did not spray. Then, after trying the following fixes, I got the problem solved.
Turn off your steam cleaner
If your Swiffer Wet Jet suddenly stops spraying, the first thing you should do is turn it off. This will help prevent any further damage to the machine. Once it’s turned off, check to see if there is any water left in the reservoir.
If so, empty it out and then refill it with clean water. Next, check the filter to see if it’s clogged. If it is, clean it off and then try turning on your Swiffer Wet Jet again. Finally, if none of these solutions work, you may need to contact customer service for further assistance.
Remove excess water from the solution tank
First, remove the solution tank from your Swiffer Wet Jet. Next, find a container that can hold at least 32 ounces (one quart) of liquid. Pour out the water from the solution tank into the container.
You might need to do this a few times to get all of the water out. Once you’ve removed as much water as possible, but the solution tank back on your Swiffer Wet Jet.
Check cleaning pads
The first thing you should do if your Swiffer Wet Jet stops spraying is check the cleaning pads. If they are old and worn out, they may not be making good contact with the floor, which can prevent the machine from working properly.
You should also make sure that the pads are firmly attached to the bottom of the machine. If they are not, they may be causing a blockage.
Change your filter
The first step is to check and see if your filter is clean. A clogged filter can be the reason your Swiffer Wet Jet isn’t spraying. To clean the filter, remove it and rinse it with warm water.
If the filter is extremely dirty, you may need to soak it in warm water for a few minutes before rinsing. Once the filter is clean, reattach it and see if your Swiffer Wet Jet starts spraying. If not, move on to the next step.
Check the air filter
If your Swiffer Wet Jet is not spraying, the first thing you should check is the air filter. A clogged air filter can restrict airflow and prevent the pump from working properly.
To clean the air filter, remove it from the back of the machine and rinse it with water. Let it dry completely before putting it back in place.
Clean it with vinegar
If your Swiffer Wet Jet is not spraying, there’s a good chance that it just needs to be cleaned. Fill the reservoir with half water and half vinegar, then run the machine until the tank is empty.
Afterward, rinse out the reservoir and fill it with just water. Run the machine again until the tank is empty. Your Swiffer should now be spraying properly!
