Want to reset your AUX air conditioner or have you ever experienced that the temperature of the air-conditioned room seems to be warmer than the actual room temperature?
That may be because there are too many people in the room, or the housekeeper forgot to turn off your AUX air conditioner when they left your home yesterday. In this case, resetting your air conditioner may do you some good!
I did not know how to reset my AC unit but soon I concluded that it was very easy to do so. Here is how to reset your AUX air conditioner as easily as 1-2-3!
Turn off Power Supply
The first step is to turn off the power supply to your air conditioner. Doing this will ensure that no electricity is running through the system while you’re working on it.
You can find the power switch usually near the outdoor compressor unit. Once you’ve located it, flip the switch to the Off position.
Check if Condenser Blower Still Runs
If the compressor clutch is not engaging, then the problem may be with the electrical system. One way to check if the condenser blower still runs is to turn on the AC and set the air conditioner to full blast.
If you hear a bad noise, then that means the blower is still running. If you don’t hear anything, then there may be an issue with the power supply or fuse.
Press RESET Button
Locate and press the RESET button. The RESET button is typically red and may be located behind a small access panel on the face of the unit.
If you cannot find the RESET button, consult your owner’s manual. Press and hold the RESET button for three seconds, then release it.
Set the Timer on Auxiliary Controls Unit (ACU) for 3-5 Minutes
ACU controls the air conditioning system and has a timer that needs to be set for 3-5 minutes. The first thing you need to do is find the ACU and locate the timer.
Once you have found the timer, set it for 3-5 minutes. Your AC might be reset successfully.
Turn On AC Power Supply
The first step is to turn on the AC power supply. You’ll need to locate the circuit breaker or fuse box and make sure that the switch is in the on position.
If you’re not sure which switch controls the AC, you can always consult your owner’s manual. Once the power is on, you can proceed to the next step.

If your AUX air conditioner isn’t working, resetting the system may help. First, check to see if there’s any coolant leaking from the system. If there is, you’ll need to have it repaired before resetting the system.
Next, locate the reset button on the AC control panel and press it for about five seconds. Finally, if all else fails, you need to replace your AC.
