If your range hood lights are flashing on and off, then it may just be that your switch assembly is broken. If that’s the case, you don’t have to call an electrician.

Replace Controller
If you have replaced your lighting unit but still experience flashing lights, it is likely that your controller has failed.
A replacement controller can be found at most hardware stores for under $50 and installing a new one is a fairly simple project that requires only basic tools.
Look to install a new one as soon as possible because if it fails, all of your lights will go out immediately, leaving you in darkness.
The best practice for preventing a similar issue with controllers is to replace them once every 5 years.
Install a Delay Circuit
No matter which bulb in your light fixture is failing, you can usually solve the problem by installing a delay circuit.
This simple device will prevent one of your bulbs from coming on until a few seconds after another bulb has already lit up.
This prevents dim bulbs from appearing as if they’re burning out since most people are expecting them to be bright immediately.
Just remember that when you add in a delay circuit, it’s important to ensure that none of your bulbs are burning out or constantly flickering; if so, you may want to replace those bulbs before attempting a repair like this.
